This guide walks you through the initial setup process after creating your Wiil account. You'll configure your workspace, business profile, and platform servicesβ€”building the foundation for your AI assistants.

1. 🏒 Choose Workspace Type​

The first step is selecting your workspace type. This determines which features and tools are available to you.

Business Workspace​

The Business workspace is designed for companies that want to deploy AI assistants for customer-facing operations.

Developer Workspace​

The Developer workspace is for technical users who want to build custom integrations or test the platform programmatically.

Select the category that best describes your business. This helps pre-configure recommended features and optimize your AI assistant's behavior.

Why Industry Matters​

Your industry selection enables:

  • Smart recommendations β€” Platform suggests relevant services
  • Pre-configured templates β€” Industry-specific assistant roles

Tip: You can adjust industry-related settings later in your workspace settings.


3. πŸ“‹ Business Information​

Provide your business details so your AI assistant can accurately represent your company to customers.

Required Fields​

Phone NumberUsed for account verification and service alerts

Business Name​

Your business name is how customers will identify your company when interacting with the AI assistant. This name appears in:

  • Greetings: "Thank you for calling [Business Name]"
  • Confirmations: "Your appointment at [Business Name] is confirmed"
  • Email communications and receipts

Tip: Use the name your customers are most familiar with. If your legal name differs from your brand name, use the brand name here.

Phone Number​

The phone number you provide is used for:

  • Account verification β€” Security confirmation during setup
  • Service alerts β€” Important notifications about your account
  • Caller ID β€” For outbound calls from your AI assistant

Warning: The phone number must be able to receive SMS messages for verification purposes.


4. πŸ“ Business Address​

Your business address ensures proper timezone configuration, telephony routing, and compliance with local communication regulations.

Required Fields​

Your complete address is required:

  • Street Address
  • Country
  • City
  • State/Province/Region
  • Postal Code

Apartment/Suite is optional.

  • Asia Pacific: Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan
  • Latin America: Mexico, Brazil, Argentina
  • Africa: Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Ivory Coast, and more

Note: Only primary business location information is supported and must be provided to ensure successful operation setup on the platform.


5. πŸ”” Communication Preferences​

Choose how you'd like to receive updates and notifications from Wiil about your AI assistant and customer conversations.

6. πŸ• Operating Hours​

Your operating hours directly affect how your AI assistant behaves. During open hours, it can book appointments, take orders, and schedule services. Outside those hours, it informs callers when you'll be available and can take messages.

Custom Schedule​

You can also set different hours for each day of the week, including:

  • Custom open and close times
  • Break periods
  • Closed days

After-Hours Behavior​

Outside your operating hours, your AI assistant will:

  • Let callers know when you'll be open next
  • Offer to take a message
  • Provide after-hours options (if configured)

Tip: You can modify operating hours anytime from Settings β†’ Business β†’ Operating Hours. Changes take effect immediately.


7. βš™οΈ Platform Services​

Select which capabilities your business requires. The platform recommends services based on your industry, but you can enable or disable any service at any time.

No Services Option​

If your business doesn't need transactional capabilities, you can skip this step. Your AI assistant will function as a knowledge-based Q&A assistant instead.

Tip: You can enable or disable services anytime from Settings β†’ Platform Services. Changes apply immediately to your AI assistant's capabilities.


Setup Complete​

After completing these steps, your business profile is configured and ready. Your AI assistant now has the knowledge it needs to help your customers.
