Account Setup Guide

After creating your WIIL account, a short guided flow builds the foundation every AI assistant relies on — who your business is, where and when it operates, and which capabilities it can act on. It takes a few minutes, and everything here can be changed later in Settings.

1. Choose workspace type

Your workspace type determines which features and tools are available.

TypeDescriptionBest for
BusinessTeam collaboration, platform services, business analyticsCompanies deploying AI assistants for customer-facing operations
DeveloperFull API access, custom integrations, testing toolsTechnical users building custom integrations

The Business workspace comes with pre-configured industry templates, platform services (appointments, products, reservations), team collaboration, conversation monitoring, and analytics. The Developer workspace adds full API access, custom integrations, testing tools, and priority support.

note

This guide focuses on the Business workspace. For the programmatic path, see the Developer Quickstart.

2. Choose your industry

Select the category that best describes your business. This pre-configures recommended features and tunes your assistant's behavior.

Supported industries include Healthcare & Medical, Health & Wellness, Retail & E-commerce, Finance & Banking, Real Estate, Technology & Software, Education & Training, Legal Services, Hospitality & Travel, and Automotive.

Your industry selection drives smart recommendations (relevant services suggested), pre-configured templates (industry-specific assistant roles), and optimized behavior (the agent understands your domain).

tip

Industry-related settings can be adjusted later in workspace settings.

3. Business information

Provide your business details so the assistant can accurately represent your company.

FieldDescription
Business nameThe name customers know you by
Phone numberAccount verification, service alerts, and outbound caller ID

Your business name appears in greetings ("Thank you for calling [Business Name]"), confirmations, and email communications. The phone number is used for account verification, service alerts, and as the caller ID for outbound calls.

caution

The phone number must be able to receive SMS for verification.

4. Business address

Your address ensures correct timezone configuration, telephony routing, and compliance with local communication regulations. A complete address — street, country, city, state/province/region, and postal code — is required; apartment/suite is optional.

PurposeWhy it matters
Timezone configurationScheduling, notifications, and business hours display in the right timezone
Telephony routingPhone numbers and call routing are configured for your location
Regulatory complianceCommunication features comply with local rules (TCPA, GDPR, etc.)

Supported regions span North America (US, Canada), Europe (UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, and more), Asia Pacific (Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan), Latin America (Mexico, Brazil, Argentina), and Africa (Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Ivory Coast, and more).

note

Only the primary business location is used during setup, and it must be provided for a successful platform setup.

5. Communication preferences

Choose how WIIL updates you about your assistant and customer conversations.

TypeDescriptionRequired
SMS text messagesConversation summaries and urgent notifications by textNo
Voice callsImportant alerts by phone when immediate attention is neededNo
Email communicationsDaily summaries, reports, and platform updatesNo
Marketing communicationsProduct updates, tips, and promotional offersNo
Service notificationsCritical updates about your assistant and conversationsYes
Recommended

Keep Email communications on to stay informed, and note that Service notifications are always on for critical alerts. Change these anytime in Settings → Notifications.

6. Operating hours

Operating hours shape how the assistant behaves. During open hours it books appointments, takes orders, and schedules services; outside them it tells callers when you'll be open and offers to take a message.

PresetHours
Retail storeMon–Sat 10AM–8PM
Gym / fitness5AM–10PM daily
Office hoursMon–Fri 9AM–5PM
Restaurant11AM–10PM daily

You can also set a custom schedule per day of the week — custom open/close times, break periods, and closed days. Outside operating hours, the assistant lets callers know when you'll next be open, offers to take a message, and provides any configured after-hours options.

tip

Modify operating hours anytime from Settings → Business → Operating Hours. Changes take effect immediately.

7. Platform services

Select the capabilities your business needs. The platform recommends services based on your industry, and each maps directly to a catalog you'll manage.

No services needed?

If your business doesn't need transactional capabilities, skip this step — your assistant works as a knowledge-based Q&A assistant. Enable or disable services anytime from Settings → Platform Services; changes apply immediately.

Setup complete

Your business profile is configured and your assistant has the foundation it needs. Next, give it a channel:

Continue with the Assistant Setup Guide to create your first agent, then explore the Catalog to model what it can sell, book, and reserve.
